Former Manchester City midfielder Toure had a first manager's role lined up with Daring Brussels, having agreed a deal with club owner John Textor. However, that move is now being paused, according to , due to Lyon's recent relegation. The French giants have been kicked down into Ligue 2 after they reported debts of around €500 million (£418m) last year.

Textor's attention is clearly needed elsewhere and that means Toure's move to Belgium has been put on ice for the time being. The former Ivory Coast international has previously had assistant gigs at Standard Liege and the Saudi Arabia national team, having retired from playing in 2019.
